Product description
Lepanto brandy is produced in Jerez at the González Byass bodega. The company was founded in 1835 by Manuel Maria González Angel, who was soon joined by his British sales agent Robert Blake Byass.
The Byass family divested themselves of their stake in the company to the González family in 1998, making them full owners. González Byass has been produced since 1844 in the heart of Jerez from locally grown Palomino grapes. Distilled in traditional pot stills, the brandy is matured in the solera system in American oak barrels previously used for storing sherry. The Lepanto Gran Reserva presented here, after 12 years of solera maturation, was finished for a further three years in Oloroso Viejo dry sherry barrels.
