Product description
Until the fall of 2015 the official expressions from Macduff Distillery had been released under Glen Deveron brand while Independent Bottlers have been using the distillery’s name.
On September 3rd that year John Dewar & Sons, subsidiary of Bacardi, announced the launch of The Deveron range containing 10, 12 and 18 years old. The range is named after the River Deveron, which flows next to the distillery and is the latest edition to The Last Great Malts series, which includes Aberfeldy, Aultmore, Craigellachie and Royal Brackla. The Deveron 12 years old is an unsophisticated, pretty friendly dram, offering quite a good value for the money.
Nose: fresh and fruity, green apples, peaches, grapes, vanilla, honey, hints of cinnamon and buttered toast.
Palate: pretty light and sweet, brown sugar, honey, butterscotch, baked apples, hints of cinnamon and lemon grass and delicate mineral notes.
Finish: medium long, rather dry, with notes of malt, hay and oak.
