Yellow Spot 12 Year Old
Yellow Spot 12-year / 46%
Yellow Spot is a legendary Irish whiskey produced by the Mitchell & Son company until the early 1960s. last century. The Mitchells were wine merchants and used wine barrels to mature whisky.
Warehouse workers marked the lids of barrels with spots whose colors referred to the age of the distillate (yellow was reserved for 12-year-old whiskey). In May 2012, after a 50-year absence, Yellow Spot whiskey returned to the market on the wave of Irish Distillers' campaign to return the single pot still category to its former glory. The whiskey was compiled from distillates aged in bourbon and sherry barrels, with a small addition of malaga barrels. Yellow Spot whiskey supply will be limited to 500 cases per year for the next few years.
