The Macallan and renowned violinist Nicolla Benedetti have teamed up to explore a sensory world full of connections between sound, aroma, taste and color. Together we discovered the main synergies and how the world of classical music and the craft of whisky making interact with each other. Nicola discovered a plethora of flavor notes in Rare Cask 2022, including but not limited to raisins, just as she usually discovers rare chords during her performances. What's more, Nicole and The Macallan are also linked by their birthplace and hometowns - Scotland.

Annual release created to showcase the complexity and depth of the most exceptional whiskies aged at The Macallan estate. A composition of hand-selected American oak and European seasoned sherry barrels, the vast majority of which are the most aromatic first fill. The result is a whisky incredibly rich with noble oak aromas and a deep natural color.
