The Macallan Harmony Collection Intense Arabica / 44%
The Macallan Harmony Collecton debuted in 2021 with the Rich Cocoa edition. A year later we received another, this time inspired by Ethiopian Arabica. Ethiopia is considered the cradle of coffee, with Arabica being the first variety grown. The creator of the edition presented here, one of Macallan's masters, Steven Bremner, invited a group of world-renowned coffee experts to join him. Among them were m.in. ethiopian coffee grower Kenean Asefa Dukamo, Scottish coffee roasting specialist Lisa Lawson, American barista Andrea Allen, and coffee historian Professor Jonathan Morris. Bremner carefully selected seasoned sherry barrels from European and American oak with a "coffee" profile, while the packaging was made from recycled materials, including coffee beans.
Aroma
roasted coffee beans, tiramisu, Christmas gingerbread, raisins, almonds, hazelnuts, black cherries, notes of vanilla and oak.
TASTE
espresso, dark chocolate, raisins, blackberries, cherries, brazil nuts, tiramisu, vanilla, a pinch of spices, notes of sherry and oak.
FINISH
long and well balanced, with notes of strong black coffee, dark dried fruits, nuts and oak.
