The Glenlivet 12-year Illicit Still / 48%

The Glenlivet 12 years old rather needs no introduction, it debuted in 1933 in the States just after the repeal of Prohibition and remains one of the most popular single malts of all time.

The Ilicit Still version presented here harks back to the distillery's early history. The Glenlivet was the first licensed Scottish distillery (1824), but its owner George Smith produced whisky and traded it much earlier taking advantage of its location in a complete remote area. The Glenlivet Illicit Stills launches "The Original Stories" series consisting of limited annual editions relating to the distillery's colorful history. Whisky aged for at least 12 years is bottled without cold filtration and with alcohol content raised to 48%.
