During the maturation process, Maker's Mark barrels are rotated in storage, allowing for a uniform flavor. Instead of rye, red winter wheat is used to give the liquor a milder, more pleasant taste. The bottles are produced in small batches and hand-sealed in red wax, so no two bottles are alike.
