Machrie Moor
Machrie Moor
Classic fresh character of Arran Single Malt with peaty character. This single malt produced at the Lochranza distillery is one of the original, first peated single malts we produced on the island.
On the west coast of the island of Arran lies a windswept and mystical bog called Machrie Moor. On its barren, undulating terrain are scattered Bronze Age stone circles. One of these circles is known as Fingal's Cauldron Seat, where there is a stone with a carved opening. The legendary giant warrior Fingal was said to have tied his favorite dog, Bran, to this stone. This peaty outpouring of Arran Single Malt perfectly captures the rugged beauty of the local landscape. Unleash the legend of Machrie Moor.
Bottled in 2 variants of 46% and 56.2% (cask strength) with no cold filtration and no added coloring, this peaty Single Malt Arran shows all the freshness of our island style, with the addition of smoke and earthiness.
From 2019. all peat whisky production on the island takes place at our sister distillery in Lagg. This is your chance to purchase and taste the original peated whisky from Arran, still produced at Lochranza Distillery.
