Longmorn 18 Year Old Double Cask Matured / 48%

Longmorn is a sizable distillery in Speyside, equipped with four pairs of alembics it produces about 4.5 million liters of distillate annually. However, single malt Longmorn is even overlooked in sales statistics, and this is due to its key role in the formulas of a couple of super premium blends - Chivas Regal 18 years old and Chivas Royal Salute. Whisky connoisseurs often refer to Longmorn as "Speyside's hidden treasure," and master buyers rank it among the top single malts. These facts probably determined the inclusion of Longmorn in the prestigious "Secret Speyside" series (three versions were released - 18, 23 and 25 years old). The Longmorn 18 Years Old Double Cask Matured presented here was aged in American oak barrels and hogshead casks and bottled at 48% abv, without cold filtration. In 2020, this whisky won a gold medal at the International Spirit Challenge.

Aroma

tropical fruits, mango, papaya, pineapple, coconut, toffee, milk chocolate, sweet bread, marzipan, vanilla, honey, notes of candied ginger and cinnamon.

TASTE

vanilla custard, toffee, cantaloupe, mango, banana plantain, coconut shavings, cappuccino, honey roasted nuts, cinnamon, a touch of cloves and oak.

FINISH

long, with notes of tropical fruit, vanilla, honey, chocolate pudding, a touch of oriental spices and burnt oak.
