Hankey Bannister
Hankey Bannister Heritage Blend / 46%
Hankey Bannister & Co. was founded in 1757 by Beaumont Hankey and Hugh Bannister. The company quickly consolidated its position in the wine market, but we don't come across the first trace of whiskey bearing its name until 1882.
Hankey Bannister was the favorite whisky of King George V (from him it received the so-called Royal Warrant) and Prime Minister Winston Churchill. The Heritage Blend presented here is a replica of the 1924-1928 whisky put together by Stuart Harvey, Inver House's master buyer, based on a perfectly preserved original. In his creation, the master added a small amount of smoky peat whisky to recreate the profile of a 1920s blend. In 2014, Hankey Bannister Heritage Blend won a gold medal at the International Wine & Spirits Competition. 5 thousand. cases of this whisky.

Hankey Bannister & Co. was founded in 1757 by Beaumont Hankey and Hugh Bannister. We don't know much about the two gentlemen other than that they were hugely successful wine importers, their clientele consisted of London's most distinguished families.
In 1860, legislation went into effect legalizing the blending of malt whisky with grain whisky, and the company soon joined the blending manufacturers. Whisky bearing her name hit the market in 1882, but its formula has not survived. Since 1988, the Hankey Bannister brand has been owned by Inver House Distillers, which owns five distilleries, Balmenach, Balblair, Speyburn, Old Pulteney and Knockdhu, and we guess that they play a key role in its blending.
