Glenfiddich 15 years old Our Solera Fifteen / 40% /
Glenfiddich Our Solera Fifteen is the latest incarnation (debuting in summer 2019) of the excellent Solera 15 Year Old, previously offered as Solera Reserve and Solera Vat.
It is compiled from distillates aged for 15 years in refill casks (American oak), sherry casks (European oak) and so-called virgin casks. Their final marriage takes place in a solera vat, which is never fully emptied and still contains a small amount of the first 1998 setting. Glenfiddich Solera has won several major awards, the most recent being a gold medal awarded by the judges of the 2017 International Wine & Spirit Competition. Glenfiddich has led the single malt sales statistics for years, with 16.8 million bottles of the whisky finding buyers in 2018.
Aroma
complex and intriguing, distinct notes of sherry, honey, caramel, milk chocolate, vanilla, dried plums and cherries, traces of cinnamon and oak.
TASTE
very mild, sherry, marzipan, milk chocolate, raisins, pears, cinnamon, candied ginger, honey, vanilla cream and subtle oak notes.
FINISH
quite long, with notes of vanilla, cinnamon, cloves, dried fruit and sherry-soaked oak.
