Glenfiddich distillery is based in Dufftown, the capital of Scotch whisky. It was built in 1886 by William Grant and equipped with second-hand distilling equipment bought from Cardhu Distillery for 119 pounds and 19 shillings.
Today, Glenfiddich is Scotland's largest malt distillery, and the first single malt to cross the one million case sales threshold (12 million bottles in 2011). The 12-year version described by the producer as Our Signature Malt won a gold medal at both the International Spirit Challenge and International Wine & Spirit Competition in 2014.
Aroma
fresh, fruity and grassy, pears, green grapes, malt, vanilla, honey, a hint of citrus and traces of oak.
TASTE
sweet, fruity, apples, pears, milk fudge, sweet cereals, a pinch of spices and a slight bitterness of oak.
FINISH
medium long, mild, some fruit, malt, oak and a slight spicy note.
