Connemara Peated Single Malt

Connemara Original Peated
Single Malt Irish Whiskey / 40%

Connemara, one of dozens of so-called whiskey brands in the Cooley Distillery portfolio, debuted in December 1995 and completely overturned the established stereotype of the Irish whiskey profile.

Twice distilled from malt with a concentration of phenol compounds of about 20ppm, it in no way matched Jameson or Bushmills, which set the standard for whiskey from the "Green Isle.". Anyway, to this day Connemara remains the only widely available Irish whiskey with a smoky-peat profile. Its "peatiness" is very different from single malts in the Isle of Islay, showing herbal and floral characteristics. The Connemara standard edition presented here contains whisky aged in American oak casks.
