Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2013 / 50%

Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2013 / 50%
Bruichladdich, one of the most creative whisky producers of the new millennium, in addition to three single malts with distinct profiles (Bruichladdich, Port Charlotte and Octomore), has since 2011 offered editions based on barley grown by local farmers. The eighth edition of Bruichladdich Islay Barley, presented here, hits the market in the fall of 2021. The barley used in it (variety Concerto, harvest 2012) came from seven farms located on the island - Coull, Rockside, Island, Mulindry, Cruach, Dunlossit and Sunderland. The whisky was distilled in 2013 and aged for eight years in first-fill bourbon barrels (75%) and Ribera del Duero, Syrah and Pauillac wine casks (25%). Islay Barley editions are bottled with natural color and without cold filtration, at 50% abv.
