Founded in 1779 on the shores of Loch Indaal in the capital of Islay, Bowmore is the first distillery established on the island and one of the oldest in all of Scotland. It is famous for producing prized malt whisky, made strictly according to traditional methods that have remained unchanged for almost two centuries. A unique combination of crystal clear water from the Laggan River, malted and smoked barley, excellent oak casks, and the work of a team of experienced specialists - these are what create a wide range of whiskies known for their mild, distinctive, peaty and salty flavor notes.
