SEEBalvenie 14 Year Old Caribbean Cask, / 43%
Another proposal from David Sewart, the legendary master distiller of Balvenie. Although Mr. Stewart's resume lists one employer, it would take a couple of pages to list the awards and accolades given to his creations.
In 2008 debuted Balvenie 17 Years Old Rum Cask, finished aged in Jamaican rum barrels. Caribbean Cask experiences a different production cycle. American oak barrels are filled with a blend of Caribbean rums, and when David decides the time is right, he empties them of rum and fills them with 14-year-old Balvenie for several months.
Aroma
rich, sweet, creamy with notes of tropical fruits, toffee, caramel and flower stall.
TASTE
sweet and balanced, vanilla, brown sugar, bird's milk and ripe fruit, trace of young oak.
FINISH
delicate and sweet, baked apples, caramel and oak.
