Because time, simple as that, has speed constans" and there is no denying that one of our favorite single malt whiskies will soon celebrate the 25th anniversary of its debut. Aberlour a'bunadh appeared on the market in 1997 and for the first few years was only available through Travel Retail. Its name translates from Gaelic as "at the base" or "at the source," which is supposed to refer to the original pattern of the "water of life.". Whisky is bottled in batches (batches), always cask strength and without cold filtration. Each batch is put together from about 60-80 Oloroso sherry barrels, now first, and before that mostly second fill. Despite minor differences, past releases have shown considerable similarity in aroma and flavor palettes. Batch #71 presented here went on sale in early fall 2021 bottled at 61.5% abv.
