Glenfiddich Excellence debuted in 2014, according to a statement from a company spokesperson, "as a tribute to the Grant family, continuous owners of the distillery since 1887, the year William Grant began distilling there.".

This is an extremely elegant whisky, the first in Glenfiddich's core range to be aged exclusively in bourbon casks. The barrels were supplied by Kelvin Cooperage of Kentucky, coincidentally owned by a Scottish family. After 26 years in American oak, the whisky has retained its freshness and strong fruity character complemented by subtle spice notes.
