Black & White (Bottled 1960s/1970s) / 43% / 0.75l
- Black & White was one of the most popular and recognizable blends of the 20th Century.
Product description
Black & White is one of the most popular blends of the last century, although current sales are just over 2 million cases per year (2020).
It is the creation of James Buchanan, one of the pioneers of the blended whisky sector. Presented in a black bottle with a white label and served in the British Parliament, it was officially called House of Commons, but consumers referred to it as Black & White, which would soon become the official name. In the 1990s, Buchanan himself developed the whisky logo by placing two terriers in it - a black Scottish and a white Highland. The core of the Black & White formula was Dalwhinnie, Clynelish and Royal Brackla, as well as Convalmore and Glentauchers. We believe the bottle presented here dates from the 1960s or 1970s and contains whisky bottled at 43% abv for Italian importer Amerigo Sagna & Figli.
