Most of us remember that Bushmills 10 years old single malt debuted in the summer of 1984, and to this day remains one of the most recognizable Irish whiskies.
It is compiled from distillates aged in bourbon barrels with a small addition of sherry casks. Meanwhile, on display in a cabinet at the distillery is a bottle of Old Bushmills 10-Year-Old, which in 1889 won a gold medal at a Paris exhibition held to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution and the presentation of the Eiffel Tower to the world. Of course, we don't know what that single malt tasted like, reportedly a sample of it extracted with a long needle was analyzed and the beverage turned out to be almost identical to today's 10-year-old version.
AROMAT
fresh and malty, vanilla, honey, apples, bananas, peaches, pine needles, fresh cucumbers, sugar cookies and fresh oak.
TASTE
light, fruity, with delicate grassy notes, cereal, vanilla, honey, raisins, baked apples, trace of white pepper and garden herbs.
FINISH
not too long, mild, with notes of vanilla, hay, apples, grapes and oak.

Bushmills is the only commercial whisky distillery in Northern Ireland. Equipped with 10 alembics, it produces 4.5 million liters of alcohol annually using the triple distillation method.
Currently, Bushmills is third on the list of best-selling Irish whiskey, behind Jameson and Tullamore Dew. Bushmills single malt debuted in 1984, a 10-year-old whiskey aged primarily in bourbon barrels. The success of Glenmorangie wood finishes from the 1990s. inspired Bushmills owners to put together the Triple Wood edition in 1996. Distillates aged for approx. 16 years in bourbon and sherry barrels (second and third fill) were mixed in equal parts and poured into port barrels for 9 months. The whiskey was enthusiastically received and remains in the company's core offering today.
Aroma
mild, malt and fruit, caramel, cereal, oranges, strawberry jam, sultanas, traces of marzipan and roasted chestnuts.
Taste
sweet and spicy, cherries, plums, dark chocolate, raisins, cereal, nut nougat, cinnamon, pepper and roasted oak.
Finish
quite long, vinous, with notes of dark chocolate, raisins, pepper and oak.

SEEBushmills 21 years old / 40%
Bushmills 21 years old debuted in 2001 and remains the oldest whisky in the company's core range. It is compiled from distillates aged for 19 years in bourbon and Oloroso sherry barrels and finished for two years in Madeira barrels. Between 2010 and 2015, this whisky won its category six times in the World Whisky Awards. In 2021, its presentation was changed, but the beverage remained the same.
Aroma
fruit and wine, oranges, nectarines, apples, pears, papaya, milk chocolate, toffee, vanilla, marzipan, hazelnuts and cinnamon.
Taste
rich, vanilla cream, chocolate-covered raisins, prunes, honey-roasted nuts, caramel, milk fudge, cinnamon, cloves and some oak.
Finish
quite long, with notes of sweet dried fruits, roasted nuts and almonds, vanilla, mulled spice and oak tannins.
