The Glenlee Batch No.2 Limited Release / 40% / 0.7l

The Glenlee is the standard blended whisky from the Aceo Ltd. portfolio, owned by Murray McDavid. The brand name recalls the Glenlee, a ship built in 1896 that circumnavigated the globe four times and weathered storms around Cape Horn 15 times.

In 1922, the Glenlee was purchased by the Spanish Navy and used as a training ship. Found in Seville in the 1980s in a terrible condition, it was transported to Scotland and fully restored by the Clyde Maritime Trust. It is currently moored in Glasgow Harbour near the Riverside Museum. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the whisky go towards maintaining the ship. The Glenlee is a blend of malt and grain Scotch whiskies aged for a minimum of three years in American and European oak barrels.

Nose: cereal, breakfast cereal with raisins, caramel, a dash of vanilla and spices and light oak notes.

Taste : cereal, vanilla, toffee, a touch of orange peel, a pinch of pepper and toasted oak.

Finish : medium long, with notes of vanilla, caramel, a trace of dried fruit and oak.
