Product description
The Crabbie family has been associated with whisky production since the early 19th century.
In 1801, Miller Crabbie opened a trading office in Edinburgh, and his son John soon bought the brewery, which he converted to producing blended whisky. The company also offered gin and Crabbie's Green Ginger Wine. John was also the first director of the North British Grain Distillery. John Crabbie & Co. joined DCL in 1963; in 2017, the rights to the brand were acquired by Halewood Wine & Spirits. Crabbie 8 Year Old debuted a year later in a limited edition of 12,000 bottles. The whisky comes from an undisclosed distillery in the Highlands and is bottled at 46% abv and unchill-filtered. In 2019, Halewood Wine & Spirits began building its own Bonnington distillery in Edinburgh; the first cask was filled in March 2020.
