Product description
Glenturret began life in 1775 as the Hosh Distillery, but records show that whisky had been produced on the property for 60 years before that.
The last change of ownership took place in 2019, when Lalique Company and Swiss billionaire Hansjörg Wyss bought it and its 1 million-litre stock from Edrington Group. Glenturret was the spiritual home (and one of the components) of the Famous Grouse blend, but that was not included in the contract, and the new owners intend to focus on single malt editions. The 15-year-old presented here dates back to the 1980s, in our opinion, when Glenturret was part of the portfolio of the French company Rémy Cointreau.
Aroma : fruity and grassy, ripe apples and pears, banana cake, sweet breakfast cereals, toffee, green tea, allspice and oak.
Palate: vanilla, toffee, fruit drops, candied orange peel, apples, peaches, lemongrass, a pinch of white pepper and oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of breakfast cereal, toffee, caramel, orange jam and a light oak bitterness.
