Product description
At first glance, the set presented here makes little sense from a marketing point of view.
However, if we go back in time a dozen or so years, it turns out that these are five types of whisk(e)y produced in four countries, the core of the Allied Distillers "brand portfolio". With a large degree of probability, we can say that this collection was put together between 1994, when Allied took over Cantrell & Cochrane, the then owner of Tullamore Dew, and 2005, when its assets were purchased by Pernod Ricard and Jim Beam Global. The set consists of five 200ml bottles.
Laphroaig 10 years old (43% abv), the most popular single malt from Islay, currently in the Beam Suntory portfolio;
Ballantine's Finest (43% abv), the second largest selling Scotch whisky (9 million cases per year), is now owned by Pernod Ricard;
Tullamore Dew (40% abv) the second most popular Irish whiskey (1.5 million cases per year), currently in the Wm Grant & Sons portfolio;
Canadian Club (40% abv) Canadian blended whisky produced in Walkerville, the distillery belongs to Pernod Ricard, and the rights to the brand are held by Beam Suntory;
Maker's Mark (45% abv) an excellent wheated Kentucky straight bourbon, currently owned by Beam Suntory.
