Product description
Whistler Whiskey debuted in early 2017 from the Irish Boann Distillery, based in Drogheda, County Meath.
Construction of the distillery began a year earlier, and the first drops of single pot still distillate flowed from the stills in December 2019. Like most small distilleries, Boann, while waiting for its own distillate to finish at least three years of maturation, offers whiskey from other distilleries. The Whistler The Good, The Bad and The Smoky is the company's first blended malt offering. Little is known about its ingredients, apart from the fact that they come from three corners of Ireland, were aged in bourbon barrels, and the finished blend was finished for at least 10 months in 125-litre quarter casks, which previously held a smoky-peated whiskey.
Aroma : slightly smoky (campfire smoke), vanilla, caramel, milk fudge, cooked pears and peaches, milk chocolate, a bit of cloves and dried herbs.
Palate: sweet breakfast cereals, vanilla, salted caramel, green tea, apples, peaches, white pepper, a touch of tobacco and some smoke in the background.
Finish : quite long, with notes of vanilla, biscuits, citrus, sea salt, white pepper, a bit of smoke and ash.
