Product description
Distillerie Radermacher, the oldest Belgian distillery, has been in operation since 1836. Its headquarters is in Raeren, which has a German-speaking community.
The distillery’s founder, farmer Peter Radermacher, decided to change his profession to distiller, and he chose pèkèt, the Walloon version of genever (genever is an older cousin of gin). The name refers to the history of Raerner Töpfergeist, a local pottery centre that enjoyed its “golden age” from the 14th to the 16th century. Radermacher gin is made by macerating juniper berries in organic wheat spirit and distilling them. Distillerie Radermacher remains in the family’s ownership to this day and produces a range of spirits including gin, genever, brandy, rum and whisky. Its products are certified organic. (Manufacturer’s note.)
