Product description
In 1836, the three-masted schooner Barracuda ran aground off the coast of an unknown island in the Caribbean.
The ship was carrying a cargo of tropical spices, fruits and rum, which were to be sent to England. It was no secret to any of the surviving crew that it would take a long time to be rescued, so the castaways established a settlement on the island, which they named Barracuda Cay. After some time, Captain Abraham Anderson, bored with the pure rum rescued from the ship's hold, began experimenting with seasoning rum with spices and fruits. This is how Barracuda Cay rum was created, which is currently produced in Panama by Consorcio Licorero Nacional SA. It is a rum made from molasses and distilled in a column still, and is supposed to be a reconstruction of the rum that the castaways enjoyed under Captain Anderson's command.
