Product description
Nucky Thompson is the standard blended whisky from Alvisa Alcohol Group, a Spanish company founded in 1969 and acquired by Japanese conglomerate Suntory 15 years later.
The patron saint of whiskey is the infamous American politician/mafioso from the Prohibition era, Enoch Lewis "Nucky" Johnson, who controlled the then entertainment capital of the East Coast, Atlantic City. Nucky profited from smuggling alcohol, gambling and prostitution. In 1941, he was convicted of tax evasion and paroled four years later. The Nuky Thomson blend presented here is the work of Ron Welsh, who used malt and grain whiskey aged for at least three years. Unfortunately, little is known about the ingredients themselves.
Aroma : wildflowers and hay, cereals, green apples, brown sugar, nut shells, a touch of pepper and vanilla.
Taste : consistent with the aroma, cereal, honey, caramel, vanilla, roasted peanuts, white pepper and a trace of oak.
Finish : not too long, grainy, with notes of sugar, vanilla, peanuts and oak chips.
