Product description
The history of the Malecon brand began in the 1990s, when Marco Savio started working in his father's company.
The company was involved in the production of typical liqueurs and the import of coffee for the Italian market. In search of the best coffee suppliers, Marco began traveling around Central America, where he soon met a man involved in blending rum and introduced him to the world of rum. The Malecon rum brand was named after one of the streets in Havana. This is a reference to the traditional Cuban methods of rum production, which are still cultivated in the Caribbean Spirits rum factory located in Panami. The Malecon offer includes a wide range of rums - from young, budget items to aged, aged rums, as well as special editions.
Malecon Rare Proof 2006 13yo is a molasses-based rum, distilled in a rectifying column. The distillate was placed in oak barrels after American bourbon in 2006 and spent 13 years in them. Then, the best barrels from this vintage were selected, their contents were blended and the optimal strength was selected, which in this case was 50.5%. Then, the rum was bottled in a limited vintage edition.
