Product description
Jura Distillery, separated from the Isle of Islay by a narrow strait, takes an active part in the Music and Whisky Festival.
In 2016, the distillery prepared a special edition of Tastival Triple Sherry Finish. After the basic maturation in American oak barrels, the whisky was finished in sherry barrels from three producers: Palomino Fino, Amoroso Oloroso and Apostoles Oloroso. The creator of the whisky is Jura master distiller Willie Cochrane, who has just announced the end of his career, and the author of the graphic design of the edition is Florian Schommer, a German artist whose concept appealed to internet users the most. The whisky is bottled without cold filtration, and the edition consisted of 8,000 bottles.
Nose : sherry-soaked raisins, crème brûlée, maple syrup, dried figs and dates, vanilla, hazelnuts, almond croissants and a hint of tobacco.
Palate: distinct notes of sherry, apple pie sprinkled with cinnamon, honey-roasted nuts, black cherries, raisins, milk chocolate and mulled wine spice.
Finish : medium long, with notes of sherry, grilled pineapple raisins, salted nuts and a subtle oak bitterness.
