Savanna Rum was founded in the 1870s in Saint Paul on Reunion Island, a French overseas possession in the Indian Ocean.
It took its name from an estate where a sugar cane plantation and a sugar mill were located at the beginning of the 19th century. However, the intensive development of the distillery and expansion into world markets did not occur until the end of the 20th century.
Savanna Lontan 57 is the second limited edition of molasses rum, distilled in a rectifying column and bottled at 57%. This rum undergoes an extremely long fermentation, which is intended to produce a large amount of aromatic esters. Edition from March 2018, limited to 1500 bottles.
Aroma : Complex, original, with notes of fruit, bananas, candied lemon, green olives, vinegar.
Taste : Notes of pepper, exotic fruits, pineapple, vanilla, soy sauce.
Finish: Long, estery.
