Product description
Bruichladdich Distillery has been producing whisky since 1881, but had to wait until the 21st century for success.
Invergordon Distillers took over the plant in 1968 and soon (1975) installed a second pair of stills. However, the time was not the best for such investments, as a major crisis was approaching in the Scotch whisky market caused by overproduction. Bruichladdich suspended operations in 1983 and resumed them several times until the end of the century, each time for a few months. It was not until Murray McDavid, who bought the distillery in 2000, that it achieved spectacular success. The Bruichladdich 21 years old, an edition from the 1990s, presented here, may contain whisky distilled before 1975, when the distillery distilled in a single pair of stills.
