The Duke Munich Dry Rough Gin / 42% / 0.7l
- The Duke Destillerie was founded by Maximilian Schauerte and Daniel Schönecker in 2008 in Munich.
Product description
The Duke Distillerie was built in 2008 by two distillers, Maximilian Schauerte and Daniel Schönecker, both great gin lovers.
Based in Munich, the name refers to Henry the Lion of the Guelph dynasty, Duke of Bavaria and founder of Munich in 1158. Today’s offering lists three versions of Munich gin – The Duke Munich Dry, The Duke Wanderlust Dry and The Duke Rough Munich Dry. While the formulas for the first two list a dozen or so botanicals, the Rough edition presented here contains only five. These are juniper, orange peel and coriander, as well as the brand’s signature hops and malt. This gin is distilled twice in small batches and bottled at 42% ABV.
The aromatic and flavor palette of Rough Munich Dry is dominated by juniper berries complemented by subtle citrus and herbal notes. This uncomplicated and friendly drink tastes great with most tonics.
