It looks like the owners of Knockdhu Distillery are quite an artistic bunch. A couple of years ago they worked with Peter Arkle, a renowned Scottish illustrator, with whom they released number of limited editions, this time they invited fashion designer Patrick Grant. He has visited the distillery and worked with the staff and local people to create a fabric print (shown on the label) to complement the whisky. In his own words ‘everything in the print is from the hill, the village of Knock or within the distillery itself and tells the story of the making of Blas’. Blas means taste in the Gaelic and anCnoc Blas, released in 2016; it is a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks bottled at hefty 54% abv.
