Product description
The Château du Breuil estate, founded in the 15th century, is located on the Pays d'Auge plain, famous for its cool climate.
The climate is conducive to the growth of apples with an exceptionally rich flavor. The first mentions of alcohol production on the estate date back to the 16th century. When Philippe Bizouard purchased the estate in 1954, he decided to modernize production. According to the producer, the time from the moment of obtaining the juice from the apples to the beginning of its fermentation is crucial to the production of Calvados of the highest quality. To obtain a liter of alcohol, the producer uses about 25 kilograms of apples. The production potential is estimated at 400 thousand liters per year. The basis for the production of Millesime 2002 is cider from the apple harvest in 2001. The drink is produced using a unique technology in accordance with the laws of production of the Calvados region. It is carried out in a completely natural way without the use of coloring or flavoring substances. The distillation took place twice in 2002. The distillate matured for at least a year in French oak barrels.
