Product description
Tullamore Dew is the second best selling Irish whiskey brand after Jameson, with annual sales of 12 million bottles.
The original Tullamore Distillery closed in the early 1950s but the brand survived and even flourished, especially in central and Eastern Europe. William Grant & Sons purchased the brand in the spring of 2010 and four years later newly built Tullamore D.E.W. Distillery started operation. While standard Tullamore Dew is a blend of malt, pot still and grain whiskies aged in ex-bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry casks, the newest expression explores uncharted territory. The company selected apples are pressed and held in oak casks for several months. After draining off the fermented cider casks are filled with Tullamore Dew whiskey for a further three months of maturation. The Cider Cask Finish expression is available at the distillery and in Travel Retail outlets.
