With annual sales of over 9.2 million cases (2022), Ballantine's is the second most popular Scotch whisky (Johnnie Walker is in first place).
Each year, the company releases a limited edition of its standard whisky with an unusual graphic design. The 2023 edition is dedicated to the Australian rock band AC/DC and opens the series "The True Music Icons Collection". The band was formed in 1973 by two guitarists, Angus Young and Malcolm Young. AC/DC has released 17 albums, which have sold in multi-million copies; their last album entitled "Power up" was released in November 2020. The group is still touring, on October 7, 2023, they performed in California at the "Power Trip" festival. In 2003, AC/DC was admitted to the prestigious "Rock & Roll Hall of Fame" and remains an undisputed icon of pop culture.
Aroma: slightly floral, violets, lavender, cereals, honey, toffee, apples, grapefruit, traces of oak and peat smoke.
Taste: fruity, apples, oranges, vanilla, caramel, milk chocolate, honey, some pine needles, dried herbs and peat.
Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, honey, nuts, pepper, a bit of peat and a slight bitterness of oak.
