Ballantine's Brasil debuted in 2014, the year Brazil hosted the FIFA World Cup. The formula was created by Sandy Hyslop, Ballantine's master blender.
The drink does not fit into the whisky category and is classified as a spirit drink, or more precisely a lime-infused spirit drink.
