Product description
Although Whyte & Mackay was incorporated in 1882, its roots date back to 1844, when James Whyte ran the whisky brokerage firm Allan & Ponynter.
Today, Whyte & Mackay operates as a subsidiary of the Philippine Emperador Inc. and has a 9% share of the global Scotch whisky market. In the process of producing blends, the company uses the so-called triple maturation, claiming that this process gives their whisky full harmony of aromas and flavors. The blend components come from the Highlands and Speyside regions and initially, the blended malt whisky and grain whisky are aged separately. After the blending is complete, the finished blend goes to sherry casks and there it takes on its final polish. The key formula of Whyte & Mackay blends are Dalmore, Fettercairn, Tamnavulin and Jura as well as the grain whisky Invergordon.
