Diageo Special Releases 2023
When the first information about this year's Diageo Special Releases was released in April this year, not everything was known about the eight special editions of whiskies from the extensive portfolio of the largest producer of Scotch whisky. Today we know much more, and most importantly, we know the complete lineup.
This year's collection is collectively called Spirited Xchange and aims to pay homage to the global nature and influence of Scotch whisky. This year's set was selected for the first time by Diageo's master buyer Stuart Morrison. Noteworthy is the fact that of the original six distilleries, which in the late 1980s. i 90. Lagavulin 12yo 'The Ink of Legends', 56.4% vol., finish in Don Julio Añejo tequila barrels. Retail price £155.
Roseisle 12yo 'The Origami Kite', 56.5% vol., first edition from a distillery established in 2009. Matured in first-fill and refill bourbon barrels. Retail price £120.
Glenkinchie 27yo 'The Floral Treasure', 58.3% vol., one of Glenkinchie's oldest editions, matured in American and European oak refill barrels and butts. Retail price £340.
Oban 11yo 'The Soul of Calypso', 58% vol., finish in Caribbean rum barrels. Retail price £140.
Clynelish 10yo 'The Jazz Crescendo', 57.5% vol., maturation only in first-fill bourbon barrels. Retail price £165.
