The winery is located in the town of Sotillo de la Ribera, in the province of Burgos, on the northern bank of the Duero River basin; its vineyards are situated at elevations ranging from approx..830 to 930 m above sea level.p.m. It has approximately 54.8 hectares of its own farmland spread across 27 plots with a wide variety of soil types—ranging from calcareous soils to gravelly and sandy-gravelly soils to clay-rich valleys.Since 2022, all of their vineyards have been certified organic, and fermentation is carried out using indigenous yeasts to better express the local terroir.The winery uses hand-harvesting, selection on two sorting tables, and gravity transfer (without pumping) to preserve the fruit’s integrity as much as possible.They primarily grow Tinto Fino (a local variety of Tempranillo), as well as smaller quantities of Garnacha, Albillo Mayor, and Merlot, striving to ensure that their wines reflect the unique character of each plot in the vineyard.
El Lebrero 2022 is an aged white wine made from 100% Albillo Mayor grapes from the El Lebrero (920 m) and La Virgen (880 m) plots.The soils on these parcels are a mixture of clay-sandy-calcareous soils (franco-arcilloso and arenoso-calcáreo).The grapes are harvested by hand into 12-kg crates, with a double selection process, and the wine ferments using a gravity-fed system with natural yeasts; partial fermentation takes place on the skins in stainless steel tanks, and part of it in 500-liter fûts and concrete vats.The wine is then aged for 8 months on the lees (sur lie) in the same tanks (concrete and oak barrels).
Appearance: intense yellow color with golden highlights, clear and bright.
Aroma: very complex—ripe exotic fruits, white flowers, aromatic herbs, mineral tones, and balsamic notes in the background.
Taste: long and balanced, with intense fruitiness, notes of citrus and aromatic herbs, a spicy finish, and distinct minerality.
Food pairings: perfect with seafood, baked or grilled fish, squid, delicate white meats, fresh cheeses, and dishes with a hint of herbs.
