Warsaw on Johnnie Walker Black labels

Warsaw on Johnnie Walker Black labels

The Johnnie Walker brand is relentless in its efforts to remind Scotch whisky lovers of its existence time and again. A new release of the results of these efforts has just appeared on the market, in addition, with a very distinct Polish accent.

Johnnie Walker Black, the twelve-year-old incarnation of the world's most popular Scotch whisky brand, has just been released in six special editions, dedicated to six cities. They include Warsaw, Madrid, Istanbul, Mexico City, New Delhi and Bangkok. Local artists were invited to prepare the labels, actually graphics covering 3/4 of the bottle's surface. The graphics for the Polish edition were prepared by a well-known Polish artist, Alek Morawski, known here and there as Lis Kula, and whose works many Polish whisky lovers have already had a chance to encounter on the occasion of other projects prepared in cooperation with m.in. from Diageo. His graphics feature elements clearly associated with Warsaw. They include the Palace of Culture and Science, the Warsaw Mermaid, the Golden Duck, and the PKO rotunda.

An interesting feature is the cooperation with Air Ink, a company that produces drawing ink from carbon compounds extracted from the air, which is an air pollutant. This is not the first time Diageo, owner of the Johnnie Walker brand, has strongly advocated the need to protect the environment, pointed out the risks and made efforts to offset the carbon footprint of its operations. Mention should be made, for example, of the Talisker brand's partnership with Parley for the Oceans, a marine conservation organization, which resulted in the not-so-distant release of Talisker 44yo Forests of the Deep.

As part of the Keep Walking City collection, 2,500 special bottles of Johnnie Walker Black have been prepared for each of the featured cities. Their purchase will be available from the time of release, through July, August and September. Or, until the prepared batch of bottles is exhausted, if this occurs sooner.

The Warsaw edition, included in the described set, is now available for purchase via House of Whisky Online. We cordially invite you to take advantage of this unusual offer, as well as to learn more about other, often unusual and surprising johnnie Walker brand whisky editions.
