Tales of the Macallan for the House of Whisky

Tales of the Macallan for the House of Whisky

An extraordinary whisky has just been added to the offer of the House of Whisky Online, the only bottle of this edition in Poland. We're talking about Tales of the Macallan, a limited-edition whisky that opens a new series of exclusive spirits from what is perhaps Scotland's most famous whisky distillery.

Tales of the Macallan is a series of whiskies that commemorate the figures central to the creation, development and current iconic position of the Macallan brand in the world of Scotch whisky. Volume I The Laird of Easter Elchies is a beverage dedicated to Captain John Grant (1659-1715), the original owner of the Easter Elchies estate on which the Macallan distillery is located today. Captain Grant transformed the almost wilderness area into what is now known as "Elchies Gardens" and renovated and expanded Easter Elchies House, the current spiritual home of the Macallan brand. The manor house is located on the distillery's grounds and offers views of the Spey Valley and the waters of the river flowing downstream.

Tales of the Macallan Volume I The Laird of Easter Elchies is a beverage distilled in 1950, selected and composed by Sarah Burgess, responsible for the production of Macallan. The unusual beverage went into Lalique crystal decanters, and with it inside an 800-page almanac. The book tells the story of Captain Grant and is illustrated with graphics by acclaimed artist Andrew Davidson. Fragments of his illustrations were also reproduced on the crystal glass of the decanter. The book was created by traditional bookbinding company Shepherds Bookbinders.

According to the manufacturer, this whisky, bottled as a 44.6% strength beverage, offers notes of grapefruit peel, old oak, vanilla, melon, wood smoke, nutmeg ripe plums and almonds in its aroma. In its taste we should find accents of peaches, apples, oriental spices, ginger and accents of cloves, sweet wood pride and juzu fruit. In the medium-long finish we discover accents of citrus and sweet oak.

Only 350 decanters of this exquisite and extremely rare liquor were released to the market. One of them - to the House of Whisky Online.

For years, the Macallan distillery has held the palm of primacy among exclusive, old and extremely rare collector's specimens of Scotch whisky. Located in the heart of the Speyside region, the distillery bases its operations on unchanging principles, known here as "pillars of wisdom" (Macallan Pilars of Wisdom), thanks to which it supplies the market with the highest quality distillates. In July 2019, a new, thoroughly modern distillery was launched here, costing a not inconsiderable £140 million to build. The unusual plant, integrated into the landscape of the Spey Valley, is equipped with 36 alembics and has an annual potential capacity of 15 million pure alcohol per year. Both the appearance of the distillery and its Visitor Center, as well as the attractions prepared for the distillery's guests, are unparalleled in the Scottish distilling industry.

Encouraged by the above information, we invite you to visit the House of Whisky Online and check out our the full range of whiskies from the Macallan distillery. Many a connoisseur will find a wide range of liquors to savor, and many a collector will find bottles that can become pearls in his collection.
