New GlenAllachie 10yo Cask Strength

Glenallachie Distillery needs no introduction to anyone. This is interesting because not so long ago only one official edition of whisky from the distillery could be found on the market, and independent bottlings on their own have never yet promoted the producer's brand. So, when you consider that until 2018 there was virtually no official Glenallachie offering on the market, you can't deny the new owner and the team he heads the determination, passion and dedication to the brand. Four years ago, the distillery was taken over by a consortium headed by the industry's well-known Billy Walker. Today Glenallachie is widely known, and there is a growing circle of die-hard fans among malt whisky lovers.
On these days, a new edition of the 10-year-old whisky bottled as cask strength, that is, served without dilution, at the strength at which the liquor left the barrels, hits the market. This is the seventh edition of GlenAllachie 10yo Cask Strength (56.8% vol.), which is a combination of the contents of several types of barrels. It included puncheon barrels from Pedro Ximénez sherry and oloroso, barrique barrels from Rioja wine, and fresh oak barrels.
As has been customary at Glenallachie for the past four years, the casks were personally selected and collated by Billy Walker himself, and like every previous edition, is a testament to the incredible craftsmanship in selecting the right casks and composing their contents.
According to the manufacturer, GlenAllachie 10 Cask Strength Batch 7 in its bouquet offers notes of heather honey, dried fruits, cinnamon, nutmeg, orange peel, mocha and sugar syrup. In the taste we can expect accents of dark chocolate, figs, heather honey, raisins, cinnamon, plums and orange zest.
It is now customary to bottle new whisky without cold filtration and the addition of coloring caramel. A single bottle will cost £62.99 at retail.
To fully appreciate the tremendous amount of work put in by Billy Walker in the selection and management of the maturation wood at the Glenallachie distillery, one need only read the following the brand's current offerings at the House of Whisky Online. All the official editions on offer have come out of the Master's hand in the last four years alone. To appreciate the craftsmanship of the selection, it is necessary to stock up on any of the available editions and convince yourself of its quality organoleptically, which we strongly encourage you to do.
