Glenturret's new official offering

Glenturret is one of Scotland's smaller whisky makers, although it has more reasons to make a name for itself in the minds of its consumers than many an incomparably larger distillery. One is its status as Scotland's oldest operating distillery. Let the second be the first Michelin star recently obtained by the restaurant operating in the Glenturret area. And although the former fact is sometimes disputed, Michelin stars are not argued with.
Bob Dalgarno, in charge of whisky production at the Glenturret distillery and formerly employed at the Macallan distillery, has prepared the distillery's new official offering, which includes whiskies aged from 7 to 30 years old. Shortly after the acquisition of the distillery by the Lalique Group in 2019, both the composition of the official offer and the design of the packaging, including the shape of the bottles, were changed. Today we learn about the introduction of a new set of whiskies, while maintaining the design introduced in 2020.
Glenturret's new official offering consists of the following editions:
Glenturret Triplewood, 45% vol whisky., matured in European and American oak sherry barrels and bourbon barrels. The price of a single bottle is £50;
Glenturret 7yo Peat Smoked, 44% vol whisky., produced on the basis of smoked barley malt, matured in American oak sherry barrels and refill barrels. The price of a single bottle is £53;
Glenturret 10yo Peat Smoked, whisky at 50% vol., produced on the basis of smoked barley malt, matured in first-fill and second-fill barrels made of European and American oak. The price of a single bottle is £57;
Glenturret 12yo, whisky at 46% vol., matured in hogshead barrels (approx. 250 liters) from American oak and European oak barrels. The price of a single bottle is £67;
Glenturret 15yo, whisky at 53% vol., matured in barrel type casks (approx. 200 liters) from American oak with a significant proportion of European oak barrels. The price of a single bottle is £125;
Glenturret 25yo, 42.2% vol whisky., matured in a fixed combination of barrels - two European oak butt type to one hogshead refill. Edition limited to 210 bottles. The price of a single bottle is £1,200;
Glenturret 30yo, 42% vol whisky., matured in a combination of Portuguese Niepoort oak barrels, European sherry oak, moscatel and refill barrels. Edition limited to 750 bottles. The price of a single bottle is £1,850.
As stated in the introduction, Glenturret is a small-scale Scotch malt whisky maker. Its capacity is about 340,000 liters of pure alcohol per year, ten times less than the production capacity of Cardhu, Aberfeldy or Talisker. As a result, the supply of whisky produced there is small. Nevertheless, in the current offer of the House of Whisky Online you can find an interesting and not at all small glenturret whisky selection, including editions released by the previous owner, as well as several editions from independent distributors. It's worth looking between our shelves, searching there and choosing something for yourself. Whiskies from Glenturret's new offerings are also sure to visit us soon.
