A unique limited edition of Springbank. The whisky distilled on December 7, 1950, reached the bottling plant exactly 40 years later, on December 19, 1990.

The contents of one cask were enough to fill just 120 bottles at 46% ABV. This edition was to celebrate David Roy Allan's 40th anniversary at Springbank Distillery. From 1989 to 1994, David R. Allan was the first person outside the founding family to serve as a director of J & A Mitchell & Co. Ltd, owner of Springbank Distillery and independent bottler William Cadenhead Ltd. The 40-year-old whisky is presented in an elegant oak box.
