Product description
Bowmore is one of a handful of Scottish distilleries with a history spanning four centuries (it has been legally producing whisky since 1779).
Bowmore's international success is linked to the takeover of the distillery by Stanley P. Morrison (later Morrison Bowmore Distilleries) in 1963. Bowmore is one of a handful of Scottish distilleries that malt their own barley, although their own malt covers about 40% of their demand. Whisky connoisseurs and collectors unanimously consider the 1960s to be Bowmore's "Golden Age". It was from this period that the now legendary Black Bowmore and White Bowmore come. The whisky presented here, distilled in 1968, was aged in American oak barrels for 37 years and is a full glorification of Bowmore in the 1960s. This limited edition consisted of 708 bottles.
