Craigellachie 13-year-old /Tuba/ 46% / 0.7l
- Despite fairly big distilling capacity (roughly 4 million liters of spirit per annum) Craigellachie is not widely recognized name among whisky drinkers.
Product description
Despite its large production potential of up to 4 million litres of alcohol per year, the name Craigellachie is not widely recognised among whisky lovers.
The majority of the production disappears into Dewar's blends , and the current owner, Bacardi Martini, has not been active in promoting Craigellachie single malt until recently . The change in status was brought about by 2014 and the distillery's cross-section of offerings, to which the 13-year-old version is an excellent introduction.
Aroma: fruity with a strong malt note, apples, pears, apricots, vanilla, honey, cinnamon and delicate mineral tones.
Taste: sweet and fruity, slightly oily, apples, pears, honey-roasted nuts, crème brûlée, vanilla and a slight bitterness of oak.
Finish : medium long, oaky, vanilla, apricots and a subtle whiff of peat smoke.
