Mannochmore Distillery is owned by Diageo, a world leader in the production of alcoholic beverages.
In 2009, the group's bosses tasked the managers of its 27 malt distilleries with selecting a single cask of whisky from their warehouse stock, a cask that best represented the distillery's style. The Manager's Choice series was born , offering the group's finest whiskies, bottled at cask strength . The Mannochmore manager selected Spanish oak sherry cask number 6582, from which 588 bottles were filled.
Aroma: interesting fruity-floral-mineral combination, gooseberries, apples, forest floor, hay, traces of chalk and wax, notes of vanilla and cocoa.
Taste : quite sweet with a distinct note of pepper, grapes, apples, blackcurrants, candied orange peel and a trace of dark chocolate.
Finish: quite long, orange liqueur, licorice, vanilla, oak and a barely perceptible note of peat in the background.
