Product description
Bottle No. 2662 / 3600
An extremely rare Cardhu edition, part of the 2005 Diageo Special Releases collector's series.
The whisky, distilled in 1982, spent 22 years in barrels made of white American oak. It hit the market in a cask strength version (57.8% abv) in the amount of 3,600 bottles. The shape of the bottle is probably the most striking - for the first time we see the official version of Cardhu in a standard-shaped bottle, and not in the elegant, angular decanter typical for the brand.
Nose: extremely complex, apples, cherries, burnt bread crust, vanilla, pralines, cinnamon, a bit of hay, damp wool and chimney soot.
Palate: rich, initially fruity, cherries, rosehip jam, red currants, lemongrass, dark chocolate, oak and spices.
Finish: quite long, oak bitterness balanced by the sweetness of citrus and vanilla.
